We were pretty excited to take a look at the SYMA S108G. As everyone know the Syma S107 is one of the best selling toy choppers of all time so we’ve got high hopes for the S108G.
So what are most people saying? So far there aren’t a great deal of reviews out there on the S108G but from what we’re reading most people are very happy with this little rc heli. It’s already got a 4.5 star rating on Amazon.com and most of the reviews look like they are “genuine”.

While the most of the reviews are positive there are a few people who had issues with this chopper so lets see what they’re saying first:
The Negative Reviews
- 1 x Manufacturers Defect – The worst review on this helicopter is obviously by someone who had a lemon – unfortunately these things do happen, especially with these lower priced choppers. He did point out that he was quickly able to get a full refund however
- Control Issues – One person had trouble running two of these Helis at the same time and that has happened to me as well – not great for simultaneous use. Another person doesn’t like the control as he finds it too touchy – again this is very much the case with these cheaper units and you need to get used to the different controls for these smaller helis

In general the Syma lineup seems to get the best reviews out of any of these micro choppers so we always recommend them to people looking for a cheap and easy intro into this hobby

- Power – overall this Syma seems to have more power than other units like the S107G. This can make it a bit more difficult to manage but once you get the hang of it you will find it to be much more rewarding to fly.
- Build Quality/Reliability – Simply put, you will crash these small choppers, especially when you’re first learning how to fly them. For a lot of brands this means that you won’t get a long life before they start to malfunction but that’s not the case for the Syma. That being said – these choppers will still break parts like rotor blades etc… so it’s a good idea to buy a few spare parts when you purchase the chopper!
- Speed – many customers have remarked that the 108 cobra is much faster than the S107 and can execute maneuvers with much greater accuracy.

We’re a big fan of the Syma line of remote control helicopters and the S108G Cobra is no different.
